26/06/2024 – The Superbet Chess Classic, the 2nd leg of the Grand Chess Tour (GCT), takes place from June 26 to July 05 at the Grand Hotel Bucharest in the Romanian capital. The nine players taking part in the 2024 Tour (including Alireza Firouzja and MVL) are joined by local star Bogdan-Daniel Deac, who has been granted a wildcard. Defending champion Fabiano Caruana is the favorite, while Ian Nepomniachtchi and Nodirbek Abdusattorov are seeded #2 and #3 respectively.
