01/12/2024 – From November 25 to December 13, defending champion Ding Liren and challenger Gukesh Dommajarju battle it out for the world crown in Singapore. The 14 classic games (120’+30′ +30” from the 41st move) start at 5pm local time (10am in Paris). The winner is the player who scores at least 7½ points. In the event of a 7-7 tie, a play-off match in quick games will determine the world champion of… classic games, as happened in 2006, 2012, 2016, 2018 and 2023! Wouldn’t it be finer to hold a world championship based on a chess triathlon, as has been happening in Biel since 2019? | You can follow here live commentary by the official FIDE team, David Howell and Jovanka Houska.
