The other qualifiers are Carlsen, Nepomniachtchi, So, Keymer, Aronian and Lazavik. In the first stage, players compete in a seven-round tournament, after which the top two finishers qualify directly for the semi-finals and the bottom two are eliminated; players placed between third and sixth compete in a consolation cup system for the two remaining places in the semi-finals, in which the winner of the qualifying tournament chooses his or her opponent.
