28/02/2025 – Kateryna Lagno, who had dominated the tournament from the start but was caught by two competitors before the final round, took too much risk against the last-ranked player after eight rounds and lost her match. She thus finished fourth behind the trio of Aleksandra Goryachkina (pictured), Batkhuyag Munguntuul and Humpy Koneru, who finished on a high. The action now shifts to Cyprus (March 14-25), where Goryachkina will play her last card. Munguntuul and Koneru, meanwhile, will be back for the Indian leg (April 13-24), where they will be looking to build on their success
