“Denouncing sexual violence is like coming out” (Chess)

Yosha Iglesias came to prominence in the middle of the summer when she was behind the open letter published on social networks by 14 French players denouncing the sexist and sexual violence taking place in the French chess world. Passionate about the noble game (she is a FIDE Master and coach), Yosha Iglesias, who is very active on X (formerly Twitter), is interested in all the debates and issues that cross the 64 squares. At the age of 35, she defends her convictions with determination, sometimes with a sense of humor, but also has to deal regularly with online hatred and insults of the utmost violence. Without really asking for it, and without claiming it, she has become a spokeswoman for this women’s collective.
