European Club Championships: R3 live

22/10/2024 – The European Club Championships take place at Vrnjacka Banja (Serbia) from October 20 to 26p. 84 teams take part in the open tournament and 18 teams in the women’s tournament. Fourteen players ranked 2700 or above are taking part, with Arjun, Gukesh and Abdusattorov the top three seeds (all Europeans…). The best team (Elo average) is SuperChess from Romania (Gukesh, Abdusattorov, Praggnanandhaa), ahead of Alkaloid from Macedonia (Arjun, Wei, Yu) and Novy Bor from the Czech Republic (Vidit, Keymer, Harikrishna) – can you find the only European on the list?) In the women’s tournament, Monaco’s Cercle d’Echecs de Monte-Carlo is the strongest team, with Goryachkina, Vaishali and Kadelmasharieh on the first three boards.
