12/29/2024 – Humpy Koneru wins the women’s world rapid championship by a landslide. After a difficult start, the Indian won solo ahead of six pursuers by a ½ point, with the least good Buchholz of them all, but a happy victory in the final round. World classical champion Ju Wenjun takes second place, ahead of Ekaterina Lagno – that’s two medals for the Grischuk family!
