07/03/2024 – Already tied for first before the tie-break of the recent Tata Steel, Abdusattorov won the Prague Masters, this time by a landslide, as he was already assured of the overall victory one round before the end and his first pursuers were relegated to 1½ points. Unfortunately for him, Abdusattorov did not qualify for the Candidates’ Tournament. Pragg’, who beat the Uzbek in the Czech capital, finishes tied for 2nd, while the other Indian who will be in Toronto, Vidit, puts in a poor showing by finishing last in Prague. In the Challengers category, 15-year-old Ediz Gürel took solo first place, beating Anton Korobov in the last game. Photo: Anezka Kruzikova / Prague Chess Festival.
