12/05/2024 – Despite starting the final day of blitz 2½ points behind lone leader Wei Yi, Le Grand (Magnus) Carlsen made it 7 wins in a row (he’d ended Saturday’s session with 3 wins) to overtake the Chinese GM and finally claim overall victory at the Warsaw Superbet Rapid & Blitz. While Wei finished just half a point behind the Norwegian, the third-placed player on the final podium, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, is already 6 points behind. Photo: Grand Chess Tour/Lennart Ootes.
